Overview
Belvedere Bellagio is a garden paradise to strip away distractions and celebrate the simple joys of life. Since 1880, five generations of Martinelli-Manoni women have cared for this house and its guests. Today, Tiziana and her daughter Giulia keep that tradition alive.
Experience
Giulia and Tiziana’s aim is to show guests the real Lake Como. Not only the glamour and celebrity, but the parts which are the most hidden yet the most authentic: the towns, people and communities that create a sense of peace and tranquility in a guest. There’s no rush to life here, just a pure enjoyment that comes from relaxing into the moment.
Ethos
The hotel sits on Lake Como’s quieter branch of Bellagio where there are fewer boats but plenty of green gardens and blue lake to stare at. Across an acre of grounds - a rarity for the region - are 38 bedrooms, 18 suites and 4 apartments. Each balances warm and contemporary design with classic Italian culture and local craftsmanship.
SERVICES
Food
As in any true Italian home, eating, drinking, and sharing time together is paramount. This starts in the new main restaurant, Albori, where dishes are a love letter to the lake, land and mountains, with ingredients from local farmers and friends, and the kitchen garden. Floor-to-ceiling windows give every meal a view of the lake, and summer weather allows for eating al fresco on the terrace.
Drink
Wine and aperitivi are held in similarly high regard throughout the hotel. The wine cellar remains structurally exactly as it was in 1880 when Giulia’s great-great-grandparents took over the property. From this cellar, Giulia has a strong passion for showcasing smaller producers whose bottles have a place in the heart of her family and those who work at Belvedere Bellagio. The Lounge Bar and Pool Bar offer further flavors of the region.
Wellbeing
The outdoor pool provides a refreshing escape, while the adjacent jacuzzi and Spa invite relaxation with organic treatments, ice and salt rooms, and a sauna and steam bath. For the more energetic, a modern gym has Technogym kit and exercise bikes overlooking the lake.
Activities
In the garden, guests can read amongst the azaleas and rhododendrons, stroll barefoot, or take a picnic or dinner amongst the olive trees. Other experiences include sailing the lake on a classic yacht, joining Chicco on his boat for the ‘laghee’ perspective, or simply enjoying the family-led hospitality that defines Belvedere Bellagio.
