What does resonance mean to you?
For me, resonance in hospitality is about creating a profound, enduring connection that goes far beyond surface-level satisfaction. It's about orchestrating every detail, from the initial brand concept to the smallest guest interaction, so that it consistently reflects a coherent vision and genuine values.
Resonance means crafting an experience so authentic and compelling that it deeply touches guests, creating lasting impressions and fostering genuine advocacy, much like a perfectly orchestrated piece of music.

First memory of hospitality? Good or bad?
At the age of five, I had my little quirks, one of which was dunking my bread into the salad dressing after finishing the salad. The diligent waiters were unaware of this habit and promptly cleared my plate. This thoughtless act disrupted my childlike sense of order and sent me into an existential crisis. I started screaming. My father smiled nervously and explained the situation to the waiter.
The waiter simply nodded kindly and disappeared, only to return to our table shortly with a small bowl of salad dressing. He placed it in front of me, handed me the bread, and then left with a friendly smile. My sense of order was not just restored; it was reformed!
This hotel was a magical place where the well-being of a child like me was taken seriously. I was treated with respect, and my wishes were acknowledged. Nothing bad could happen in such a place. From that moment on, I wanted to be involved in hospitality.

Favourite hospitality experience/memory?
One of my most cherished hospitality experiences was at Kamalaya in Thailand. What truly stood out was their exceptional ability to create a holistic journey that felt profoundly personal and transformative.
Every element, from the mindful design of the spaces to the bespoke wellness programmes and the attentive, empathetic staff, worked in perfect harmony. It was an immersive experience of healing and self-discovery, demonstrating the immense power of a well-positioned and authentically delivered hospitality concept.
